Sensory-Friendly Performance

Please note:  This performance is designed for individuals on the autism spectrum and their families.   

Society for the Performing Arts’ Education and Community Engagement Department creates affordable opportunities for the discovery, development and celebration of creativity on and off stage for all people in the Houston area. As part of that mission, SPA is pleased to present a sensory-friendly matinee by Ballet Hispánico
on Friday, May 18th at 10:30 am in the Cullen Performance Hall at the University of Houston. This one-hour performance will include the following:

  • Orchestra level seating only, with room to move around
  • Designated quiet areas in the theater
  • Lowered sound levels
  • House lights at a low level during the performance
  • No strobe lighting
  • Talking and movement during the performance allowed
  • Extra volunteer support provided
